Final performance of songs, poems, raps and melodies written and produced by  participants of the Lyric Writing Course at BAC.

Aspiring poets, songwriters, singers, rappers, musicians and anyone interested in writing lyrics, aged 15-19 took part in this course led by Glyn Bush, a music leader for B Sharp, at Bridport Arts Centre.

Glyn has a wealth of experience of composing, recording, performing and touring in the UK and abroad – as well as running drumming and in-the-moment music making workshops.Young people from as far a field as Weymouth took part in this project.

The project gave young people a chance to find out lots of interesting things about how music is put together but most importantly how to express their ideas through words and poetry.

A range of informal writing exercises to get the creative juices flowing, as well as finding out about song structure and rhyme schemes gave participants the tools to share ideas and help get their message across.

The sessions were devoted to creating lyrics, some of which will be based on interviews conducted by the participants with an end of term gig to showcase the new songs.
