During the autumn term of 2015, B Sharp teamed up with the 4 primary schools of the Axe Beacon Federation (Colyton, Kilmington, Seaton and Shute) to run a series of ‘excellence through group singing’ workshops for their years 4, 5 and 6.
Over 120 children worked with a group of music leaders to compose their own songs and create works collaboratively. After working independently in their own schools, the children will come together on Thursday, 19th November in St Andrews church, Colyton to share their own work and rehearse for a performance in the afternoon starting at 2.00 pm.
The programme is led by inspirational musician/composer John K Miles (who also led B Sharp’s commissions: ‘Beer Quarry Caves’ performed at Exeter cathedral and ‘On Golden Cap’ for the 2012 Cultural Olympics.
Deborah Jordan, vocal coach, provides singing insights
B Sharp music leaders Jacques Verhaeren (vocals, bass guitar), Matt Hartnell (vocal, drums/percussion) and Jon Pogson (vocals, guitar) complete the delivery team.
