We have created a Trainee scheme where young people work alongside professional leaders/musicians providing a genuine ‘pathway’ for young people to create, participate in and lead music workshops and performance. Our trainee/mentoring system encourages inclusiveness, cascading skills through ability levels and builds confidence in all participants. Great emphasis will be put on developing a legacy of transferable skills. Trainees will keep a record of their involvement and have a portfolio to evidence their experience.
If you would like to become a Trainee and are a musician, visual artist, designer, technician, event manager, marketing – infact any job connected to the arts, music and young people and are aged between 18 and 25 (ish) – please contact Fran.

Alumni – Jacques (founding member), Olli, Greg & Will our infamous B Sharp Trainees who have given so much time and energy over the past 4 years to making B Sharp the great success it is, have moved to Bristol to expand their musical careers. Grace the female vocalist from Papa Legal has volunteered to work with us when she can….
Volunteers
B Sharp provides lots of opportunity for young people to develop their skills, ideas and interests through the project and partners. This provides valuable work experience, evidence for a portfolio, accreditation and CV.
If you have skills to offer and ideas to develop let us know. Can you help with marketing, poster design and publicity, website, events or with the wider organisation? Are you interested in youth work? Volunteering at events.
We always need help, there is something for everybody to do and this is a good way to market young peoples various skills.
Lyme Youth Arts (LYA) is our organisation ( B Sharp is our music project); young people make up over 50% the committee and are supported by Avyin Rogers, John Batholomew and Polly Benfield. LYA make decisions about the project and how its run. If you would like to be a part of this let us know.
Supported by:
Youth Music, WDDC, LRTC.
