Alan Rogers, the Arts Development Officer for Weymouth and Portland says: “There are a growing number of local and county initiatives, partnerships and groups in Dorset helping to develop our new, green, walking procession into something truly unique for Weymouth as we move towards 2012 and the planned “Festival of Carnivals”. Lyme Regis can be truly proud of its representatives this year this year; the collaboration between B-Sharp and the Magic Drum Orchestra was the heartbeat of the whole procession and the non-stop energy and power of the drums lifted the spirits of the unimaginable numbers that lined the procession route. You could see people smiling and beginning to move to the rhythms as they passed. I’m looking forward to developing this work and to creating something even more spectacular for 2010. Well done B-Sharp and the Magic Drum Orchestra!

I think B Sharp is the most inspiring project in the area and it needs to grow in order to show everyone its full potential as a hub for local musical activity.
This kind of training is a rare thing to experience before degree level and it sets one apart from other musicians because I believe that working in a team, engaging and dealing with people are as big a part of being in the music industry as actually performing on your instrument
