What People Say

I can safely say that Ralph and I LOVE working with B Sharp, it’s provided some of our most rewarding experiences to date and is always so easy and fun – thanks to all the lovely people (yourself included of course)  involved in it.  Roll on more funding so we can keep it rolling!

Glyn Bush – Music Leader

We were delighted with the outcome of the B Sharp project and every aspect of our childrens involvement was a positive one.  The relationship between the tutor and the children was fantastic. He gave every child an opportunity, irrespective of their ability and he used their ideas to create music. An amazing experience.

St Michaels Headteacher Mr Tozer regarding  ‘Generation Freedom Live’

“This is fabulous! Why didn’t we know about it before? Nothing we can do this year, except enjoy!  But next year definitely!! This is absolutely what Count Me In should look and feel like.

Richard Crowe, creative programmer London 2012www.london2012.com/culture

“I went up to watch one of the rehearsals last week and I was incredibly impressed. John has done a fabulous job and he has managed to coax a level of performance out of the students which many of them probably thought beyond their capabilities.
I hope we can continue to work with B Sharp in some way.”

Woodroffe School Headmaster, Dr Steward

“There has been 18 months of non stop opportunity to learn new skills. Working and playing alongside all the different professional musicians and music leaders has changed the way I hear music, its like my ears are more tuned in to pick up new rhythms and ways of playing. The experience us trainees have got from this far exceeds any music course you can do, its better than doing a degree in music, this is real learning and it has without a doubt changed the course of my future for the better”

JV

“I look forward to going to the workshops every week. The leaders and trainees are awesome as they are quite close in age to us, this is an inspiration”

Dan Baker Participant

“Everybody has learnt loads, workshops have been very spontaneous as well as organised, people have been pushed to try new things, difficult rhythms and sounds but at the same time taught simply how to do this. The leaders include everybody whatever level of experience”

I am just back from watching the final performance by B Sharp at The Marine Theatre. What can I say? I was expecting a mediocre night, fidgeting in my seat…. Not so! Our kids rocked the stage with smooth Jazz and wicked bass lines. Stonking kids. Absolutely brilliant :0)

I was lucky enough to be involved with some of the children participating in the ‘Humanity’ production, and would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone contributing to the B sharp project. The children enjoyed the whole experience immensely from start to finish. I personally feel that they got so much from this; it helped with team building, self confidence and even encouraged them with their literacy in school. I am delighted that both the performances were such a huge success and wish to thank everyone who was involved, particularly John, Oli, Greg, Jacques and Fran. A truly memorable time!
